North Star District Camping
Webelos Scout Camping
Camping for the Webelos scouts is key to building interest in the outdoors and interest in becoming a Boy Scout. Webelos have fun with age appropriate activities that include fishing, hiking, scouting skills, and campfires. Webelos Scout overnighters introduce the boy and his parent to the basics of the Boy Scout camping program. These events are conducted under the leadership of a trained Webelos den leader. In most cases, the Webelos Scout will be under the supervision of a parent or guardian. In all cases, each Scout is responsible to a specific adult, BSA health and safety and youth protection guidelines apply.
Webelos Scout dens are encouraged to attend the North Star District camporee and Webelos Woods events. The purpose of these events should be for the boys to look ahead with anticipation to their future as Boy Scouts and observe troops they might join.
Each year the district's Boy Scout troops provide staffing for these events. Webelos 1 and 2 dens are encouraged to participate. At the camporee most of the troops camp with the Webelos providing an opportunity for Webelos Scouts to observe area troops in action.
In addition to the two district camping events, Circle Ten Council offers Webelos Resident Camp, a summer camping experience for all Webelos Scouts.
