November 2014 Newsletter

Compass Point

Dear Scouter,

Finally cooler weather, and maybe some desperately needed rain. However don't let the temperatures and moisture dampen your Scouting activities. There are still plenty of things happening in the district, council and hopefully your units.

Regards, North Star District

New Cub Scout Roundtable Commissioners

North Star District is pleased to announce Jarah Lewis, Cubmaster of Pack 1830, and Lori Beard, Cubmaster of Pack 583, as co-Cub Scout roundtable commissioners. Both volunteers are experienced Cub Scout leaders.  Their enthusiasm for Scouting is only matched by their desire to deliver a program each month that will compel you to attend roundtable for your Pack’s benefit.

Come and experience Cub Scout roundtable Thursday November 13, 2014.

Advancement Day

Registration for North Star District's Advancement day are currently underway. This is the time for your Boys Scouts to get, or start working on both Eagle Scout required merit badges, or elective merit badges. Check out the news article on the district website for details and the registration packet.

Registration ends the 17th, but don't wait until the last minute, classes may fill up.

District Top Trainer Leader Status

Currently we are at 48%. click on Unit Trainingunder the Training section then select your unit type (PackTroopTeam or Crew) to see if your unit's Top Leader is trained or not.  If they are not, you will also see what training they need to take to become trained.

Remember, to be a "Trained Leader," an adult volunteer needs to have successfully completed all the training as proscribed by National. If you are not sure that you are a Trained Top Unit Leader, a list of the required training can be found at here.  Also remember that training certifications have to be renewed at least every 2 years. The drop this month is due to unit leaders training certifications expiring.
