Newsletter August 2014

Compass Point

Dear Scouter,

Scouting It's almost time for school to start back up, and that means it's also time for the district to ramp back it's activities. That means roundtables, camporees, training classes for both Scouts and Scouters. We have many activities planned to help leaders put on an exciting program for their youth. Stay tuned to the website, newsletters, Facebook page and twitter feeds to keep up with what the district has to offer.

Joint Scout Roundtable

Join us Thursday, August 14, 2014, at the LDS Stake Center Carrollton for the first Cub Scout and Boy Scout Joint roundtable of the new Scout year. This is a great time to meet other leaders in the district and learn about upcoming plans for the next Scout session.

CUBe Experience 2014 registration is open. CUBE is for all Cub Scouts, Tigers, Bears, Wolves, and Webelos Scouts to enjoy crafts, games, BB gun shooting, archery and cooking. There are three different sessions so that everyone can attend at a time convenient for them.

Currently we are at 60%. click on Unit Trainingunder the Training section then select your unit type (PackTroopTeam or Crew) to see if your unit's Top Leader is trained or not.  If they are not, you will also see what training they need to take to become trained.

Remember, to be a "Trained Leader," an adult volunteer needs to have successfully completed all the training as proscribed by National. If you are not sure that you are a Trained Top Unit Leader, a list of the required training can be found at here
